Revocable Trusts

Revocable Trusts are an increasingly commonly used estate-planning tool used by individuals and couples in the management of their assets during their lifetime, and distribution of their assets following their deaths.  These revocable Trusts are often called "living" Trusts, as they are able to grow, adapt, be revoked, and be changed during the lifetime of the creator of the Trust, but are unable to be changed following the death of the creator of the Trust.  With the creation of a revocable Trust, you may transfer ownership of many of your assets from you, personally, to you, as trustee of your Trust.

Revocable living Trusts hold many advantages over a simple Will:  They can help to avoid costly and time-consuming probate, minimize potential costly estate taxes, and avoid costly conservatorships.  The experienced lawyers at the Law Office of Jim Eimers can meet with you to discuss whether a revocable living Trust is appropriate for you and your loved ones.
